LOS ANGELES - "LA Kings Holiday Ice at L.A. LIVE" - a new outdoor ice skating rink that will be located within the Nokia Plaza L.A. LIVE across the street from STAPLES Center - will hold its Grand Opening on December 3, the Kings and American Skating Entertainment Centers, the operators of the new facility, announced today. The Grand Opening of "LA Kings Holiday Ice at L.A. LIVE" will also be in conjunction with the annual Tree Lighting at L.A. LIVE, which will be held the same night.
The Kings are also scheduled to hold a special "LA Kings Holiday Ice at L.A. LIVE" Kick-Off Press Event on December 3. More details on this Press Event will be released next month.
The facility, the first of its kind at L.A. LIVE, will be open from December 3-31. It will measure 70 feet by 50 feet and will accommodate 200 skaters at one time.
"We are very excited about ???LA Kings Holiday Ice at L.A. LIVE??? as we feel we are creating new traditions here," said Kings President, Business Operations Luc Robitaille. "It is also a perfect compliment to our game in an ideal setting - L.A. LIVE."
The Kings will also host special functions from 5 - 6 p.m. prior to each December Kings games at STAPLES Center. In December, Kings games at STAPLES Center are as follows: Dec. 3 against Ottawa at 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 5 against St. Louis at 1 p.m.; Dec. 7 against Calgary at 7:30 p.m.; Dec. 10 against Phoenix at 7:30 p.m.; December 12 against Dallas at 7:30 p.m.; and December 28 against Minnesota at 7:30 p.m.
From December 3-17, the hours of operation of "LA Kings Holiday Ice at L.A. LIVE" will be 4 p.m.-Midnight from Monday - Friday and from 11 a.m.-Midnight on Saturdays and Sundays. Beginning December 18, the hours of operations will be from 11 a.m.-Midnight all seven days of the week.
Private group (10 people or more) rental will be available from 2 - 4 p.m. from Monday - Friday, while on Saturdays and Sundays private group rental will be from 8 - 11 a.m.
"Skate with Santa" sessions will also be available as are special Birthday Party packages.
